A “Thai Police Certificate” or “Thailand Criminal Record Check” may be conducted as a condition of employment, volunteer placement or during an immigration process. It is usually the last step in the pre-employment or immigration process, and should be conducted only after the job offer is made and with consent of the applicant.
Thai Police Certificate is a Thailand criminal record check that will show any criminal convictions a person has received. This is the most commonplace type of background check.

Both Thai citizens and foreigners who ever live in Thailand for more than 6 months, you may require a criminal record check or a Thai Police Clearance Certificate from Royal Thai Police in Thailand for the following reasons:
  • Employment – Today a wide range of organizations are requiring employees and to provide Thai Police Certificate. It is the last step in the pre-employment process, and should be conducted only after the job offer is made and with consent of the applicant.
  • Adoption - Every child deserves to have a family of their own. Adoption is one way to bring together children who need families and families who want to parent children. Adoption is a legal and social process through which a child becomes part of a new family and families are given the opportunity to experience all of the rewards that come with parenting a child. Adoption is the permanent legal transfer of all parental rights from one person or couple to another person or couple. Adoptive parents have the same rights and responsibilities as biological parents, and in most cases the adoptive parents are required to obtain a Thai Police Certificate if they ever live in Thailand for more than 6 months.
  • International travel
  • Volunteer work
  • Immigration applications - When you apply to become a permanent resident or a citizen of any country, you and your family members must include a Thai police clearance certificate. When you apply as a visitor, student or temporary worker, the visa/immigration officers may ask you for a Thai Police Clearance Certificate.
  • Changing your name
  • To obtain a record of suspension

Applications for Thai Police Clearance Certificate may be requested by you or by an agency/employer. However, they can only be conducted with your written consent. You have the right to see your Thai Police Clearance Certificate before it is given to someone else.

If you are under 18 years of age then you may need to have your parent or guardian consent to the Thai Police Clearance Certificate.

How long is my Thai Police Clearance Certificate last?
How long your Thai Police Clearance Certificate is good for depends on what immigration program or reason you are applying to. In most cases, the Thai Police Clearance Certificate is valid for 8 to 12 months from the issue date.

Greetings!

I hope this email finds you well.

My name is Denise Marie De Leon Miranda from Philippines. I would like to request for Thai Police Clearance for my work requirement with my application in Canada

I was there last December 2012 - June 2013 for my training at Pullman Hotel G, Bangkok Thailand.

Please see attached files for your reference of my Passport and Certificate of Employment from Pullman Hotel G proof that I was a trainee from the said days of my stay in Bangkok, Thailand.

Also, attached file of Royal Thai Police Clearance Form for your approval.

Hoping to hear from you very soon. This is for my work requirement purposes. And justification that I don’t have any Criminal Record found with my stay.

Thank you!

Kind Regards,
Denise Marie D. Miranda
